A 32-year-old pedestrian has died after being knocked down by a minibus near Drogheda in Co Louth this morning.

The accident happened at Killimear, about one mile north of Drogheda, at around 4.30am.

Meanwhile, Gardai have still not named the two victims of separate road accidents in Co Sligo and Dublin yesterday.

A 29-year-old man died when his car hit a van in South Cairns, Co Sligo, while a 22-year-old woman died after being knocked down on Beaumont Road in Churchtown, Dublin.
