Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today urged Sinn Fein to sign up to Northern Ireland’s new policing arrangements when legislation amending police reforms is laid before Westminster later this year.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today urged Sinn Fein to sign up to Northern Ireland’s new policing arrangements when legislation amending police reforms is laid before Westminster later this year.

Mr Ahern, who will tomorrow meet British Prime Minister Tony Blair to review progress on the Good Friday Agreement, said Northern Ireland’s Police Board had performed well on a number of difficult issues despite Sinn Fein’s boycott.
