Two men have died and three people have been taken to hospital after fire ripped through a Belfast hostel.

Two men have died and three people have been taken to hospital after fire ripped through a Belfast hostel.

The tragedy happened early today at the Morning Star Hostel in the city's Divis Street.

The three taken to hospital were suffering from smoke inhalation.

Four fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze after the alarm was raised just after 2.30am.

There were 18 people, including staff, in the building at the time. The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
