Harney calls for privatisation of airports
The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, has called for the privatisation of Ireland’s airports, a move she said will lead to lower prices.
Ms Harney said she believes a second terminal at Dublin Airport should be run independently of Aer Rianta.
She also called for autonomy for Cork and Shannon Airports. Aer Rianta currently operates all three airports.
Today's comments come after Ms Harney called for the privatisation of Aer Lingus at the Progressive Democrats' pre-election conference at the weekend.
