Andrews to discuss human rights issues in Sudan
Dublin MEP, Niall Andrews, is on his way to Sudan as the European Union restores its diplomatic relations with the war torn country.
A cease-fire has been put in place and the country’s international isolation is being eased after it promised to tackle human rights issues.
Mr Andrews insists that Europe has an important role to play in the rehabilitation of the country.
During his four-day visit, Mr Andrews will meet top Sudanese officials to emphasis the importance of democracy and human rights. He also announced that the EU would resume its aid payments to the African nation almost immediately.
