Donnan murder trial jury retires
A murder trial jury is expected to retire this afternoon to consider its verdict in the case of a young man accused of murdering his mother.
Damien Donnan, 20, of De Valera Park, Thomondgate, Limerick has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Jennifer Donnan, 42, at the family home on April 17, 2000.
The Central Criminal Court heard that Mrs Donnan was strangled to death in the early hours of the morning.
The jury of eight women and four men have been asked by the defence to consider a verdict of manslaughter.
