Ahern rules out improved offer for teachers

The Taoiseach has said that teachers will not be offered an improved package of substitution and supervision pay.

The ASTI and TUI have rejected the government's offer of €34 per hour.

The ASTI is to withdraw cooperation on substitution on March 4, and it is feared that some schools may be forced to close.
