The body of a German tourist who was murdered in Co Meath last September has been released to her family.

The remains of Bettina Poeschel had been held pending the completion of detailed forensic and other tests.

The body of the 28-year-old Munich journalist was found near Donore village, five miles from Drogheda, on October 17th, three weeks after she went missing.

Ten days later, a 39-year-old local man was charged with her murder.
