Youth dies after being found in street

A young man has died in Tralee after being brought to the town's hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Local gardai were called out just after midnight after the 20-year-old was found lying in an unconscious state in Upper William St in Listowel.

An ambulance was summoned to remove the man, who is believed to be local, to Tralee General Hospital, where he died at 6.20am.

A post mortem is to be carried out this afternoon and a full garda investigation has been launched.

No comment is being made in relation to what may have caused the death until the investigation is complete.
