A rare logger-head turtle has been found washed in off the Connemara coast.

The turtle is being brought to the Dingle Ocean World in Kerry by a team from Duchas, where it’s hoped he will be nursed back to health and released back into the ocean.

The turtle is thought to have been brought to Ireland in a Gulf Stream.

Logger-head turtles are normally found in tropical waters like the Caribbean.
