Farmers mount protest in Castlebar

Around 50 farmers have mounted a protest today outside the Department of Agriculture building in Castlebar, Co Mayo, over the delay in the payment of suckler cow premiums.

The protestors, members of the Irish Cattle Traders and Stockowners Association, said they were forced to take action after waiting three months for their first payments.
