Victim of car crash near Clonakilty named

The Cork man who was killed in a car crash near Clonakilty this morning has been named by the gardai as Roy Bennett.

The Cork man who was killed in a car crash near Clonakilty this morning has been named by the gardai as Roy Bennett.

Mr Bennett, a local man from The Miles in Clonakilty was in his late teens or early twenties.

He died when the car in which he was a passenger collided with a set of concrete bollards on the main Bandon Road near the town.

The driver of the car and another passenger, both males, were also seriously injured while two other female passengers received minor injuries.
