Northern police seize AK-47s in west Belfast
Police in the North have arrested four people and recovered a number of weapons during a search in west Belfast today.
A police spokesman said the weapons, which are believed to include AK-47 assault rifles, were recovered in a house in New Barnsely Crescent in the strongly nationalist Ballymurphy area.
The area around the house was sealed off following the search, pending examination by bomb disposal experts.
Police said the seizure was part of an ongoing operation against dissident republicans in west Belfast.
