The British Ambassador to Ireland, Ivor Roberts, has criticised Irish politicians and the media for making "alarmist" statements about the threat Sellafield poses to the Irish population.

The British Ambassador to Ireland, Ivor Roberts, has criticised Irish politicians and the media for making "alarmist" statements about the threat Sellafield poses to the Irish population.

Mr Roberts said he recognises the concerns harboured by Ireland over the highly controversial nuclear plant, but said those in positions of power should report the matter in a balanced way.
