'Peace wall' ruled out near Holy Cross school
The British government has ruled out building a 40ft wall between Catholic and Protestant communities near the Holy Cross primary school in north Belfast.
The Northern Ireland Office has dismissed suggestions that a peace line currently being upgraded in Ardoyne would be extended to include the school run.
Loyalists had proposed building the wall, but school governor Fr Aidan Troy warned that erecting such a barrier on the road would only serve to increase tensions.
