Reid demands full backing for police service

Northern Secretary John Reid today demanded full political backing for the police service in a bid to catch paramilitary killers.

Reid spoke as he visited a Royal Mail centre where murdered Catholic postman Daniel McColgan worked.

Reid said, "you cannot demand an effective policing service if you do not give that police service your support".

McColgan was murdered by the UDA earlier this month.
