Judges reject Baby O deportation case

The High Court has rejected the case of an unborn baby of a Nigerian woman.

The woman sought a declaration that the foetus was a legal person.

Baby O, whose mother is due to be sent back to Nigeria, wanted the court to declare that the child could not be deported.

The crux of the case was the legal status of the unborn child, who has separate legal representation.
