Cox tipped for new European Parliament presidency

Munster Independent MEP Pat Cox is expected to be voted in today as the new president of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

MEPs select today from a list of five candidates, who will take office for the next two-and-a-half years. Mr Cox is tipped to take the role by a narrow margin.
