Man held after arms seizure in Belfast

Police in the North have seized a quantity of weapons and ammunition following the search of a house on the Carlisle Road in Belfast.

Four steel-bodied pipe bombs containing ball bearings and nails were recovered, along with a high-explosive mine and detonators, a sub-machine gun, a single-barrelled shotgun and assorted ammunition.

One man has been arrested following the search which was carried out shortly before midnight.
