Pupils of the Holy Cross girls’ primary school in north Belfast walked to school in peace this morning, despite two nights of sectarian rioting centred around the Catholic school.

Pupils of the Holy Cross girls’ primary school in north Belfast walked to school in peace today, despite two nights of sectarian rioting centred around the Catholic school.

Loyalist residents from the Glenbryn estate, where the school is located, had promised not to reinstate their protest, which led to pupils being escorted to school by riot police for more than three months last year.
