Irish court system under scrutiny
The Chief Justice, Mr Ronan Keane, has announced today the establishment of a working group to examine the operation and organization of various jurisdictions within the courts system in Ireland.
At a media conference he said: "The process would fundamentally reform the courts system in Ireland."
The group is to be headed by Mr Justice Nial Fennelly, a supreme court judge. It will undertake a root-and-branch look at the organization of the courts and examine any necessary changes to allow for the fair, expeditious and economic administration of justice.
