Community leaders in north Belfast are expected to hold talks later today in an effort to prevent an escalation of tensions between nationalists and loyalists in the Ardoyne area.

Rioting erupted in the area yesterday evening and continued into the early hours of this morning. At least 17 police officers were injured in the violence, which a spokesman described as "sustained and heavily orchestrated".
