Britain’s Conservative Party is expected to team up with unionists in the House of Commons today to oppose a planned extension of the deadline for decommissioning in the North.

Under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement, all groups committed to decommissioning were granted an amnesty from prosecution and the British Government wants to extend that amnesty by one year to February 2003.
