A full-scale investigation is underway in Limerick after the body of a young woman was found in suspicious circumstances at a hotel in Limerick City.

A full-scale investigation is underway in Limerick after the body of a young woman was found in suspicious circumstances at a hotel in Limerick City.

The grim discovery was made early this morning at the Jury's Inn Hotel.

The body of the young woman remains at the scene following the brutal attack.

She was found by a member of staff shortly after 6am this morning.

The gardai were immediately called to scene and they sealed off the area.

State Pathologist Dr John Harbison is expected in Limerick this afternoon.

The young woman was found in the hotel kitchen with multiple stab wounds.

Her name has not yet been released until all relatives have been informed.
