Sanmina-SCI plans to close its Dublin facility and move operations to its plant in Fermoy, Co Cork, by March.

A company spokesman said last month’s merger of Sanmina and SCI, both US companies, means it is "not feasible" to keep both Irish plants operating.

Sanmina-SCI has been operating in Blanchardstown since September 1997.
