Gardai arrest man in connection with fatal stabbing

Gardai have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin overnight.

Gardai were alerted by the accident and emergency unit at Tallaght hospital after a 23-year-old man was admitted with stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The attack is believed is have happened in the Cloonmore Park area of Tallaght at 4am.

The arrested man, 26, is being held under section four of the Criminal Justice act.

A full scale Garda investigation is underway and a post mortem will be carried out on the body later today.
