Two charged with murder of former RUC officer

Two men have been before Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with the murder of retired RUC officer, William Kennedy.

Mr Kennedy, 65, was found dead by his daughter at his home in Ahoghill, Co Antrim last Sunday.

The two defendants are both from the village. They are Alan McCooke, 25, of Galgorm Road and Mervyn Williamson, 21, of Brookefield Gardens.

Both men denied the charges and were remanded in custody to appear in court in the New Year.
