Protesters gather to disrupt hunts

Anti-hunt protesters are gathering today in Dublin, Meath and Waterford on what is the biggest day of the hunting season.

Protesters will be armed with horns and sprays in attempts to disrupt the hunts.

Spokeswoman for the Association of Hunt saboteurs, Bernie Wright, said the main aim of their peaceful protest was to distract and confuse the hounds.

She added this would be done be giving an opposing signal to that of the huntsman.

The signal will confuse and split the pack making them unable to kill if they are not together.
