Republican Sinn Fein, the political wing of the Continuity IRA, has claimed that at least five of the men arrested in Limerick are members of its party.

They include Des Long, the party’s vice-president, and Joe Lynch, the local publicity officer, as well as two other senior officials from the Munster branch of the party.
