Ireland secures 5% increase in fish quotas

European marine ministers have agreed drastic cuts in future fish quotas following 26 hours of talks in Brussels.

During the talks, cuts of between 25% and 58% in EU-wide fish quotas were agreed in an effort to allow dwindling stocks to recover.
