Man charged with murdering Limerick pensioner

A 25-year-old man has appeared before Limerick District Court charged with murdering a 74-year-old man in the city last week.

Darren Cunneen, from Clare Street in Limerick city, was remanded in custody to reappear before the same court again next Thursday.

He was charged with murdering Joe O’Doherty, who died after being attacked in his home in the Pennywell area on Thursday.
