Limerick murder, man due in court

A 25-year-old man is to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged in relation to a murder inquiry into the death of a pensioner last Thursday.

Seventy-five-year-old retired schoolteacher Joe O'Doherty was found battered to death in his bungalow in the grounds of the Good Shepherd convent in the Pennywell area of Limerick last week.
