Experts probe 'blast' at customs office
Army bomb experts were today examining a customs office in Co Fermanagh after reports of an explosion.
Police received a telephone warning last night claiming a bomb had been left at the office in Killyhevlin industrial estate in Enniskillen.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A customs spokesman said the office was not a frontline post staffed over weekends.
‘‘This is not the law enforcement arm of customs, it deals more with duty and VAT paperwork,’’ he said.
Ulster Unionist Assembly member Sam Foster said terrorists were attempting to destroy peace and harmony in the run-up to Christmas.
‘‘If this is another terrorist crime it has to be condemned by all right thinking people,’’ he added.
