Gilligan mounts challenge to court's powers

John Gilligan’s lawyer has accused the Special Criminal Court of operating beyond its limits by attempting to establish the source of his client’s wealth.

Yesterday, the court ruled that Assistant Garda Commissioner Tony Hickey can submit new evidence that was not give during Gilligan’s trial earlier this year.
