Rail worker dies in Dundalk accident

A rail worker in his 30s has died after he was crushed between a locomotive and a carriage in Dundalk station this morning.

A rail worker in his 30s has died after he was crushed between a locomotive and a carriage in Dundalk station this morning.

The Iarnrod Eireann employee was seriously injured during what the company called a "shunting movement" at 10.30am.

He was rushed to Louth County Hospital, where he died a short time later. The company has launched an investigation into the incident.
