Three due back in court over tobacco seizure

Three men are due back in court today charged in connection with yesterday's seizure of 80 million cigarettes on board a ship in Dundalk.

Three men are due back in court today charged in connection with yesterday's seizure of 80 million cigarettes on board a ship in Dundalk.

They were remanded in custody when they appeared at Dundalk District Court yesterday.

Robert Terence Tibbs of Connington, London, Frederick Kerley of Lord's Wood, Chatham and Terence Ivor Wall with an address in Bewtstown, Cardiff, are all charged with attempting to avoid payment of £16m on cigarettes and defrauding the State of the same amount.
