Sherwin wins his libel action

The Fianna Fail organiser Sean Sherwin has won his libel action against the Sunday Independent.

Mr Sherwin, 54, was libelled in an article written by the paper’s political editor, Jody Corcoran, in 1999.

Damages of £250 were awarded and costs will be decided next week. The jury made the decision after deliberating for six hours.
