Ahern still waiting on compensation from Dennis "Starry" O'Brien

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today announced that he has not received “one penny” in compensation from Dennis “Starry” O’Brien.

Ahern successfully sued the Cork businessman for £30,000 earlier this year.

Mr O’Brien had falsely claimed that Mr Ahern had received a £50,000 back-hander in a hotel car-park.

The Taoiseach said in the Dail today that the case has ended up costing him money.
