Nine herds of cattle destroyed amid brucellosis outbreak

Nine herds of cattle have been destroyed in counties Cavan and Longford because of fears of brucellosis.

Department of Agriculture vets are today carrying out checks on around two hundred farms in the region to check for the disease.
