All ‘‘hole-in-the-wall’’ cash machines in the country will be out of action for a period on January 1, the day the country switches to the euro currency.

The cash dispenser close-down will start at 1.30am on New Year’s Day, with some locations opening again for business just four-and-a-half hours later and all returning to service by early evening.
