Mission to rescue French fisherman in Atlantic underway

A mission to rescue an injured French fisherman is underway in the Atlantic.

The man has a broken arm and is stranded on board a trawler 100 miles off Sligo’s coast.

An Aer Corps helicopter is battling force ten gales to winch the man from the vessel, before flying him to hospital in Galway.
