Flanagan to retire as chief constable of NI police

Ronnie Flanagan tonight confirmed his intention to retire as Northern Ireland’s police chief.

Within weeks of the Royal Ulster Constabulary being replaced by the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Chief Constable wrote to the Policing Board announcing his intention to retire.
