The North’s First Minister, David Trimble, has written a letter to all 860 delegates of the Ulster Unionist ruling council asking them to support his tactics for securing IRA decommissioning.

Mr Trimble is attempting to prevent anti-agreement members of his party from tying him into a February deadline for the completion of IRA disarmament.
