Controlled explosion in Limerick

Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious package found in Limerick City this morning.

The package, which looked like a plastic bag with wires protruding from it, was discovered in the Castleroy area.

It is unclear if it contained any explosives.
