Police in the North have charged a 51-year-old man with murder in connection with an IRA attack that killed an RUC officer 26 years ago.

48-year-old Joseph Clement died in November 1975 after a landmine attack in Sixmilecross, Co Tyrone.

The 51-year-old man, who was arrested in Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh, yesteday, is due to appear before Cookstown Magistrates Court tomorrow.
