Dublin murder was drug-related, say gardai
Gardai have named the man shot dead in north Dublin last night as 48-year-old Gerard Fitzgerald, from Finglas.
Mr Fitzgerald died after being shot three times at the junction of Shanliss Road and Oldtown Road in Santry at around 10pm.
Detectives investigating the case have said Mr Fitzgerald was involved in the drugs trade and they suspect his murder was gang-related.
They also believe a silver car found burned out three miles away was used in the shooting.
