Blaney, Gildea to support Govt over corruption inquiry
Independent TDs Harry Blaney and Tom Gildea appear set to support the Government in an opposition motion calling for a judicial inquiry into alleged garda corruption in Donegal.
The pair had hinted that they would support the motion. However, Justice Minister John O’Donoghue told them yesterday that the Government cannot establish an inquiry because civil and criminal proceedings relating to the matter are still before the courts.
