Government mediator called in to resolve beet price dispute

A Government-appointed mediator will today attempt to resolve a dispute over beet price between the Irish Farmers Association and Irish Sugar today.

A Government-appointed mediator will today attempt to resolve a dispute over beet price between the Irish Farmers Association and Irish Sugar today.

The IFA says it is entering the talks with a very strong resolve to get a solution to reach a fair price for beet and return supply to the factories.

IFA President, Tom Parlon, says compromise is essential to resolve the long running dispute at sugar plants at Mallow and Carlow Town.
