Independent TD may support calls for corruption inquiry

Independent TD Harry Blaney, whose support keeps the present Government in power, is considering whether or not he should support opposition calls for a public inquiry into allegations of garda corruption in Donegal.

Independent TD Harry Blaney, whose support keeps the present Government in power, is considering whether or not he should support opposition calls for a public inquiry into allegations of garda corruption in Donegal.

Mr Blaney has said he supports calls for an inquiry, but is afraid that ongoing criminal and civil cases relating to the alleged corruption could make such an investigation impossible.
