Three die in road accidents overnight

Three more people were killed on the roads last night after two pedestrians and a motorcyclist died in separate accidents in Wicklow, Louth and Meath.

Three more people were killed on the roads last night after two pedestrians and a motorcyclist died in separate accidents in Wicklow, Louth and Meath.

A woman in her fifties died in Greystones in Co Wicklow shortly before 9pm.

The pedestrian died after she was involved in a collision with a car on the Blackline Road. She was taken to St Colmcilles Hospital in Loughlinstown where she was pronounced dead.

An 18-year-old male pedestrian died on the Dundalk to Newry Road at about 1.30am following a collision with a car. He was taken to Louth County Hospital but he was pronounced dead soon afterwards.

Finally, in Co Meath, a 23-year-old motorcyclist died when he lost control of his bike and collided with a tree near Kells. Gardai have not yet released the names of any of last night’s road victims.
